From March 31st to April 6th, India imported a
total of 2,726,012 metric tons of coal from various countries.
Among the contributing countries, Indonesia emerged as the
dominant source of coal for India, accounting for a substantial portion of the
imports. With a total of 1,741,966 metric tons, Indonesia's coal exports to
India constituted approximately 63.9% of the total import volume for the week.
Following Indonesia, Australia stood as the second-largest
contributor to India's coal imports during this period. Australia supplied a
total of 324,820 metric tons of coal, representing approximately 11.9% of the
total import volume.
China, Russia, and South Africa also made substantial
contributions to India's coal imports during the week. China supplied 124,872
metric tons (approximately 4.6% of the total), Russia provided 268,157 metric
tons (approximately 9.8% of the total), and South Africa exported 231,197
metric tons (approximately 8.5% of the total).
